As Super Stars Literacy continues to expand to serve more students and their families, we are always looking for more talented, dedicated instructional staff.

Help a Child Learn to Read!

Volunteer as a Classroom Tutor with Super Stars Literacy!

Description As a volunteer tutor, you will work directly with our K-2nd grade students one-on-one or in small groups to help facilitate literacy activities and provide reading or writing assistance as needed.
Time Our program runs weekdays from 2:45 to 5:00 (1:00 to 5:00 on Wednesday).
Commitment We’re looking for volunteers for at least one hour per week (during program hours), for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Benefits Volunteers will feel the reward of giving back to the community and helping a child learn to read! Volunteers will gain experience in providing early literacy instruction and will also receive training and feedback from experienced literacy teachers.
Training Volunteers will be given a Super Stars Literacy orientation. In addition, volunteers will attend new tutor training and additional training sessions are offered on an on-going basis.
Requirements All volunteers are required to complete Live Scan finger printing and TB clearance.

Volunteer for one of our Field Trips or Special Events!

Super Stars Literacy hosts fieldtrips and Family Reading Nights for students and families.

Description Duties of an event volunteer may include greeting, chaperoning students, preparing and distributing lunches, helping families sign in, assisting with group activities, setup and cleanup.
Time Field trips are held on Saturday mornings and Family Reading Nights are usually on Wednesday evenings.
Commitment One evening or Saturday for 2-5 hours.
Benefits Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend a fun event, give back to the community and gain experience working with children.
Training Volunteers will be given a Super Stars Literacy orientation and training prior to the start of the event.

Help build the Super Stars organization!

We’re looking for volunteers to serve on board-level committees.

Description We’re looking for volunteers to serve on board-level committees, which help build our organizational capacity. We are looking for expertise in the following disciplines:
  • Literacy Development
  • Fundraising
  • Event Planning
  • Project Management
  • I.T.
  • Marketing / Communications
Commitment Flexible. Expertise can be provided according to your schedule. Committees generally meet on a monthly basis.
Benefits The satisfaction of helping to build the foundation for Super Stars Literacy to expand to provide educational opportunities to thousands of additional young minds.
